Arlen Nipper to Provide Opening Keynote at ENTELEC

Arlen Nipper, Cirrus Link President, and CTO will provide the opening keynote, “MQTT – Invented for SCADA, Adopted by IT, Solving OT/IT Convergence Today,” at the upcoming ENTELEC 2021 Spring Conference & Expo.  Arlen will deliver the keynote on Wednesday, August 11th at 9:00 AM at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.

In this session Arlen will discuss the evolution of MQTT since it was invented for more efficient SCADA communications 20 years ago, and how it is now becoming a dominant Cloud and Industrial Internet of Things messaging technology. Arlen will share the disruptive impact MQTT is now having as companies digitally transform and OT and IT technologies converge.

Arlen was one of the early architects of the Internet of Things and co-invented MQTT. Prior to his role at Cirrus Link, he has worked for Amoco and Koch Oil and served as President and CTO of Arcom Control Systems and Eurotech Inc. His experience covers a broad range of technology from the design and manufacturing of embedded systems to SCADA system infrastructure implementations.
